Staff

Gabriela Poler-Buzali
Executive Director

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, she served previously as development officer at New York’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center and is founder of the Contrast Dance Theatre, a modern-dance company that tours nationally. She holds a master’s degree in arts administration from Teachers College at Columbia University and received a bachelor's degree in dance from Boston Conservatory.

Part–Time Internship
The intern is responsible for assisting in all administrative aspects of the daily organizational management. This involves assisting in the production of all concerts, galas, fundraising events, marketing campaigns, and PR campaigns. 
Development

  • Assist with the fundraising campaign including foundation grant writing, donor cultivation, annual appeals, corporate sponsorships, track major gifts, produce special events, annual POA Gala and small fundraisers
  • Assist with the development of committees to enhance special events and POA concerts
  • Assist with donations process; deposit funds, write thank you letters and make phone calls to corporations

Marketing

  • Assist to secure partnerships with other organizations to increase our marketing efforts
  • Assist in writing press releases for national and international press agencies
  • Encourage corporate employees to attend POA concerts to begin corporate matching donations
  • Assist in the development of strategies and tactics to insure strong attendance, awareness, and support for POA programs
  • Assist in the development of an email marketing campaign, including email blasts and e-newsletters

Production

  • Work closely with Artistic Director in assisting her in rehearsals, and concerts
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and management of guest artists as well as music publishers, music rentals, and music parts and scores
  • Assist in the execution of concert production

Administrative

  • Daily communications with artistic director, executive director, PR agencies, and musicians, and audience members via email, phone and fax
  • Update press packets

PAY: $10 AN HOUR, 7–10 HOURS A WEEK
